雖然旋轉可以延長混凝土初凝的時間，但是這個時間也不是可以無限延長的！混凝土罐的轉速每分鐘在4-8轉的時候混凝土初凝時間可以保持在3-5個小時左右，當然和天氣溫度、混凝土配合比有一定的關系，如果發生堵車可以適當提高轉速。天氣溫度過高初凝事件縮短也可以適量補水，但是施工方都有嚴格規定：途中禁止加水！會影響混凝土質量，降低強度等。
